Children on Campus
From time to time, minor children will be part of our teaching-learning environment. Whenever minor children are present, however, thoughtful, adult supervision is required.
The District is committed to providing a physical environment which enhances teaching and learning while supporting the personal safety of all members of the District community.
Students, faculty, and staff are not permitted to bring minor children on campus or to other District facilities. The following exceptions apply. Children may come on campus who are:
- Enrolled in the Child Development Center or other instructional programs of the District
- Attending public events
- Accompanied by adults who are accessing student services or other services district-wide
- Participating in classes (at the request of the instructor)
Employee and students shall provide adequate supervision for such child or children and ensure that there is no disruption either of instruction or of services as a result of their being on site.
Visitors, including minor children, to any District facility are subject to all relevant District policies and regulations.
Parents and guardians must be aware that the ultimate responsibility for the safety of the children in their care rests with them. No liability will be accepted either by the District or any of its agents or staff for the consequences of children being on campus.
