General Education
Program Description
Cal-GETC Certification
For transfer students who begin in Fall 2025 or later, the California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC) is the required pathway to fulfill lower-division general education requirements for transfer to both the California State University (CSU) and the University of California (UC). Advantages of completing the Cal-GETC may include more flexibility in class selection at the university and timely progress to degree completion. It is the student’s responsibility to request Cal-GETC Certification from Enrollment Services.
Do I need Certification?
Students are advised to meet with a Counselor to determine whether Cal-GETC certification is required for the students educational goal. It is strongly recommended that students complete Cal-GETC prior to transfer to a CSU or UC, although it is not required for admission. Cal-GETC certification can be requested through Enrollment Services.
