General Education Breadth, Cal-GETC Certificate
The Certificate of Achievement for Cal-GETC provides students with the option of completing all lower division general education transfer requirements for the University of California (UC) system, California State University (CSU) system, and many California private institutions.
Students who intend to complete this Certificate of Achievement must meet all of the Cal-GETC general education requirements. A grade of "C" or better is required for all courses on Cal-GETC.
Students may request certification of their Cal-GETC general education upon completion of this Certificate of Achievement. The Certificate of Achievement will appear on students' transcripts, but the certificate is a separate request that must be completed by an evaluator, and it is students responsibility to ensure the certificate is sent to their transfer institution. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with a counselor to discuss transfer requirements and lower division major preparation that is needed for their intended transfer institution.
Although the certificate recognizes the completion of Cal-GETC lower division general education requirements, it does not guarantee admission to a specific UC or CSU campus, nor does it guarantee admission to a specific major. Some majors at certain institutions may require specific lower division preparation and GPA that is different than the requirements for Cal-GETC.
NOTE: Federal Financial Aid eligibility is currently pending for this certificate.
